Grammar and culture tips
Tajsa – tomorrow and yesterday
The word tajsa means both tomorrow and yesterday – the tense of the verb tells you which. For yesterday, idž is also used.
Future tense
The future tense is formed by adding -a: džav (I go) → džava (I will go), avav (I come) → avava (I will come), kerav (I do) → kerava (I will do). In the second person, -s changes to -h: aves → aveha (you will come).
I was
The past tense of “to be”: somas (I was), salas (you were), has (he/she/it was). These forms are the same for men and women.
The week
Kurko means both Sunday and week. Saturday is sombat.
