Deleting your Friends profile

This page explains how to delete your profile in the Friends and races feature (Přátelé a závody) of the Čiriklo app (iPhone and Android). Čiriklo is operated by Rudolf Cicko in the Czech Republic. The app is in Czech, so the Czech labels are shown with a translation.

In the app (iPhone and Android)

Open Čiriklo and go to Profil → Nastavení (Profile → Settings).
Tap Přátelé a soukromí (Friends and privacy).
Tap Smazat profil v Přátelích (Delete Friends profile) and confirm with Smazat profil (Delete profile).

Nastavení → Smazat veškerý postup (Delete all progress) also deletes the profile (and the course progress on your phone). Deletion on the server happens immediately; from backups within 30 days. If you are offline, the deletion completes the next time you open the app with an internet connection. While the app shows "Mazání profilu dokončíme, až budeš online." (We will finish deleting your profile once you are online), the deletion has not happened yet – do not uninstall the app before then.

Without the app

Email support@ciriklo.app with the subject "Smazání profilu" and include your friend code (e.g. ROM-7K3P) and your recovery code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). You can find both in the app under Profil → Nastavení → Přátelé a soukromí.

Requests without a valid recovery code are refused, so nobody can delete someone else's profile. We delete the profile within 7 days and confirm by replying to your email. We delete your request email at the latest 30 days after handling it.

Lost your recovery code?

Without the recovery code we cannot verify that the profile is yours. The profile is, however, deleted automatically after 6 months without app activity.

What is deleted and what is kept

Deleted: your name, friend code, the fingerprint of your recovery code, progress summary, XP records, friends, requests, invites, blocks, friend-removal records and race rewards.
Kept:
- reports and moderation records about you (they contain your name and friend code at the time of the report or action), for 12 months from resolution, for safety reasons; for a deletion requested by email, this includes a record of the deletion with your code and name;
- races (length, times, points and result) without your name or code, for at most 12 months from when the race was created; your opponent sees "Smazaný hráč" (Deleted player) instead of you;
- a fingerprint of your secret key, no longer linked to any profile, for at most 90 days, only to block its reuse;
- your friend code itself with the time of deletion, not linked to any profile and without a name, for 2 years, so that it is not given to another player while older invites still mention it.
Backups: deleted data disappears from them within 30 days.

Course progress and coins on your phone are not affected by deleting the profile. To remove them, uninstall the app, but only after the profile deletion has completed (see above).
